Therapy Services

Therapeutic process is special and sacred. It is cultivated by a foundation of comfortability and trust with one's therapist and openness in oneself, an environment that provides a Safe Haven to all, and that calls for collaboration between therapist and client.

Adults

There are a variety of reasons to engage in individual therapy from struggling with significant mental health presentations, experiencing impactful life changes and challenges, having an existential or spiritual crisis, or noticing an unhealthy cycle in one's interactions and response to their environments and social relationships. These experiences can be traumatic either on a small or large scale and may often feel connected to patterns, events, and experiences over a person's life. This can happen at the conscious or unconscious level. Therapy with myself, an EMDR therapist, is about deepening the understanding of the client's experiences and the connection to their whole self, preparing the client and their body as a whole system using a collaborative approach, engaging the client in processing of the core issues or events, and promoting lasting change for the client by facilitating awareness of adaptive improvements. My goal as your therapist is to hold a space that is both secure and challenging as I believe learning is a life-long process and that all people across the lifespan are capable and deserving of healing.

Children

There are various reasons to seek individual therapy for children including various mental health presentations often most visible through their behaviors, social interactions, and academic function. Like all humans, children experience significant life changes, challenges, existential and spiritual crisis, and traumatic events. Children deserve a Safe Haven environment to share and process through their lived experiences in a way that is individualized, developmentally relevant, collaborative and honoring of them as an individual, inclusive, and incorporates the lens of the whole family system. Therapy with myself, an EMDR therapist for your child, is about providing a collaborative Safe Haven environment that incorporates playfulness, resource development, and skill building to promote ready and openness to processing the core issues and events contributing to their emotional distress. The engagement of the family system, specifically children's primary grown-ups (ie. natural parents, adoptive parents, step-parents, grandparents) are important to the therapeutic process and healing as they are often the containers for big emotions, promoting repair of emotional wounds, and installing safety, connection, and support through the present situation. Parent engagement is highly valued through the progression of therapy to support positive attachment through child-parent interactions that is necessary for children's wholehearted healing process.

Family

Being part of a family can be both wonderful and wild due to the nature of there are multiple individuals with various needs, feelings, and perspectives. When there is stress within a family system, despite best intentions of all family members, it is easy to develop disruptive and unhealthy cycles of interaction. As a therapist providing Family Therapy, I use EFT as the primary approach to cooling the temperature among family members to support listening and promote alternatives to communication alongside with promoting exploration and awareness of how each individual in the family system interacts through their relational cycle to restore or promote healthy interactions.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

This form of therapy is ideal for individuals who have engaged in other forms of psychotherapy to treat various mental health presentations including PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety. KAP is ideally for individuals who are seeking to supplement their ongoing mental health treatment.

To participate in KAP treatment, there is an assessment and collaboration with medication prescriber in preparation and through the duration of KAP services. Additionally, the KAP preparation process includes intention setting which incorporates the lens of trauma-informed care and attachment theory alongside the methodologies of EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
